LTBS History by Rev Leslie Curran

Our Radio Ministry began in 1973 as the first missionary project of the newly created Young Peoples Movement.

The Rev Alan Cairns along with Revs James and Frank McClelland supervised the new project. The name chosen for the new witness speaks for itself. Let The Bible Speak Radio ministry began recording in our Ballymoney church. It then moved to the old Cabra church where the Studio was based for several years.

As the radio work increased the Rev Leslie Curran took over the day to day running of the ministry, a position that now engages him full time.

From our studios the gospel has sounded out to literally millions all over the world beginning with just one station in the Isle Of Man the radio ministry spread to Canada; to the cities of Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary, to the United States; to places like Greenville and Philadelphia and to other countries too - Sri Lanka, India, South Africa, West Africa and Australia.

Since the Rev Curran took over the work in 1980 our radio ministry has spread to other new radio stations in Africa and the far east. It was'nt until 1998 that an opportunity came for our programmes to be heard in the United Kingdom on London's Premier Radio.

More recently the Republic of Ireland has opened to us as well. At the moment Let The Bible Speak broadcasts over ten programmes each week over several local radio stations, some of which reach into parts of Northern Ireland. We have also launched a web radio service. LTBS WEB RADIO

From the very beginning we determined that we would never make any financial appeals during our broadcasts. Our lifeline has been the prayerful financial support of our Churches. We thank God that He has been pleased to His cause over the years and use this ministry to reach thousands of souls.

The sowing of the seed by this method has proved abundantly fruitful.
In a number of places God has used this witness to form thriving congregations in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Greenville and Philadelphia.

We have also received many encouraging responses by our listeners over the years who have been saved and edified through our ministry. God has certainly blessed this ministry over the years and we look forward to more opportunities to spread His Word in the days to come.
